Tour Itinerary

Day 1

London – Llandudno (Distance: 420 Kms)

This morning, our journey will take us to the charming town of Llandudno in North Wales. Llandudno boasts a captivating promenade that enhances its Victorian allure, nestled amidst picturesque surroundings. The town is graced by two beautiful beaches, set against the stunning backdrop of the Snowdonia Mountains.

You will have some free time to relish Llandudno’s beaches. Stroll along Wales’ longest pier, experience a ride on the exclusive cable-operated tram to the summit of The Great Orme, or explore the intriguing Llandudno Museum. For those who love shopping, the newly opened Victoria shopping centre is a must-visit.

During your visit to this enchanting resort, you can also opt for an excursion on the Llandudno Cable Car in Hope Valley (please note that this is not included in the tour package). As the cable cars glide silently from Hope Valley to the summit of the Great Orme (679ft), a breathtaking panorama unfolds before you, showcasing views of Llandudno, the Little Orme, Conwy Estuary, and beyond. The Llandudno Cable Car is renowned as the longest passenger cable car system in Britain. Alternatively, you can experience the Great Orme Tramway (also not included), Britain’s largest and most spectacular funicular tramway. The Tramway ascends one mile to the summit of the Orme, offering awe-inspiring vistas of Llandudno’s magnificent bays and beyond. This historic attraction has been captivating visitors, both young and old, for over a century and is a truly unique experience not to be missed.

Please note that the Llandudno Cable Car and tramway must be booked on the day of arrival and are not included in the tour cost. Additionally, the cable car attraction only accepts cash (Operation is weather permitting).

Later in the day, we will check into our hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2

Llanberis – London (Distance: 390 Kms)

This morning, after breakfast, we will set out for our primary destination, which is Snowdon Mountain.

Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales, reaching an altitude of 1,085 meters (3,560 ft) above sea level. It holds the distinction of being the highest point in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands. Situated within Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd, it is often described as “probably the busiest mountain in Britain” and has been designated as a natural nature reserve due to its rare flora and fauna.

You can book Snowdon railway tickets directly or purchase them through Star Tours, when booking through our website, with an extra cost. Please check with us for the confirmed departure time before booking directly with Snowdon Railway.

Our journey begins as we arrive at Llanberis station, located in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. Here, you will embark on an awe-inspiring adventure by rack railway, ascending to approximately three-quarters of the way up Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales and England.

As your train departs from the station, it will commence its ascent towards the clouds. This remarkable journey has been experienced by approximately 12 million intrepid travelers since 1896. If you are fortunate enough to have tickets on the “Snowdon Lily,” your carriage will be propelled by one of the original 1896 steam locomotives or by a diesel train. You will immediately sense the noble engine exerting its effort as you ascend towards the summit, passing by the picturesque waterfall in Llanberis. Over the course of 45 minutes, you will be surrounded by the breathtaking views and the experience that is Eryri, the land of the Eagles.

The vistas from the train, as it traverses along a ridge towards the Summit, are genuinely awe-inspiring. You will be treated to one of the world’s most spectacular panoramas. On exceptionally clear days at the Summit, you can even see as far as the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland and the Isle of Man.

After descending back to Llanberis, we will commence our journey back to London.
